Goosebumps (2015)

Teenager Zach Cooper and his mother Gale move from New York to the small fictional town of Madison, Delaware. Their new neighbors are the mysterious "Mr. Shivers" and his daughter Hannah, but when Zach tries to introduce himself, Mr. Shivers warns him to stay away from them. At his new high school, Zach meets and befriends Champ, a socially awkward student who is often bullied. One night, Zach hears Mr. Shivers and Hannah arguing from his window, followed by Hannah screaming. He calls the police, but Mr. Shivers assures the officers that nothing is wrong and the scream was from a movie.
Fearing Hannah is in danger, Zach anonymously calls Mr. Shivers, pretending to be a police officer, and tells him to come to the police station for further questioning. Once he is gone, Zach and Champ break into the house in search of Hannah. They find several manuscripts from the Goosebumps book series, all of which are locked. They unlock The Abominable Snowman of Pasadena, but are confronted by Hannah, who assumes they are burgling the house. Zach clears up the misunderstanding, but when he opens the unlocked book, a Yeti emerges from it and breaks out of the house. In the ensuing chaos, the Night of the Living Dummy manuscript is accidentally unlocked as well. Zach, Champ, and Hannah pursue the Yeti to a local ice rink and it attacks them, but Mr. Shivers appears and sucks it back into the book.
On the way home, Mr. Shivers explains that he is actually R.L. Stine, the author of Goosebumps. He created the Goosebumpsmonsters when he was a child to cope with severe bullying. However, the monsters came to life and became uncontrollable, so he had to trap them inside their manuscripts. Returning to the house, Stine and the kids are confronted by Slappy the Dummy, the villain of Night of the Living Dummy, who is angry about being imprisoned. Before Stine can capture him, Slappy burns his own manuscript and flees with the others. The gnomes from Revenge of the Lawn Gnomes are also freed and Stine and the kids try to fend them off, but each gnome reforms after being smashed, making them realize that the monsters cannot be destroyed.
Slappy releases the Goosebumps monsters and leads them on a destructive rampage across Madison. Zach suggests that Stine write a new book that will trap every monster, but he can only do it on a special typewriter which is at the high school. The monsters attack Stine and the kids on the way to the school, and the Werewolf of Fever Swamp pursues them into an abandoned supermarket, only to be run over by Zach's aunt Lorraine. As they continue toward the school, Zach notices that Hannah glows blue in the moonlight. He privately questions Stine about this and Stine reveals that Hannah is a Goosebumps character he created after his wife died, but she is unaware of this. At the school, they find the typewriter and starts work on the new book. As the monsters storm the school, Zach leads the other students in barricading the doors, while Champ saves popular girl Taylor from the werewolf. Slappy confronts Stine and breaks his fingers with the typewriter case before the story is finished.
Stine and the kids board a school bus and lead the monsters to an abandoned carnival on the outskirts of town. While Stine distracts the monsters, Zach finishes the story, but is reluctant to open the book because Hannah will be trapped inside it as well. Hannah reveals that she knew she was not real all along and opens the book, sucking all of the monsters into it. While Zach tries to hold on to her, Hannah accepts her fate and is imprisoned as well after they kiss.
Sometime later, Stine has started working at the high school as an English teacher. After class, Zach asks him if he misses Hannah, but Hannah suddenly reappears. Stine reveals that he wrote her back into existence with another book. She and Zach kiss and leave school together while Stine burns Hannah's manuscript. As he prepares to leave the school, he sees the typewriter typing by itself inside it's display cabinet, and the paper reads "The Invisible Boy's Revenge". Brent Green, the invisible boy from My Best Friend Is Invisible, has somehow evaded capture and Stine screams as Brent's hand prints appear on the cabinet's glass.

Bridge of Spies (2015)

In 1957 Brooklyn, New York, Rudolf Abel retrieves a secret message from a park bench and reads it just before FBI agents burst into his rented room. He prevents discovery of the message, but other evidence in the room leads to his arrest and prosecution as a Soviet spy.
James B. Donovan, a lawyer who specializes in insurance settlements, is asked by his partners to take on Abel's defense. The United States believe that Abel is a KGB spy, but want him to have a fair trial to reduce the Soviet Union's chance to use it for propaganda. Donovan meets with Abel in prison, and the Russian agrees to accept his help. But he persists to maintain his innocence and refuses to cooperate with the US government on any revelations of the intelligence world.
Although Donovan takes his work seriously, no one—including the prosecuting attorneys, the judge, his firm, or his family—expects him to mount a strong defense of Abel. His efforts to seek acquittal are met with shock and anger by the American public, he is deluged with hate mail, and his life is threatened, but he continues to fight.
Abel is found guilty of all charges, but Donovan convinces the judge to sentence him to 30 years imprisonment, rather than death, on the grounds that Abel may one day be valuable as a bargaining chip with the USSR. Donovan subsequently appeals to the U.S. Supreme Court that the evidence presented by the prosecution is tainted by an invalid search warrant, but loses 5–4.
In the meantime, Francis Gary Powers goes on a U-2 spy plane sortie over the Soviet Union, where he is shot down and captured. He is convicted and subjected to interrogation. Frederic Pryor, an American economics graduate student, visits his German girlfriend in East Berlin just as the Berlin Wall is being built. He tries to bring her back into West Berlin, but is stopped by Stasiagents and arrested as a spy.
The USSR sends a backchannel message to Donovan, via a false letter to Abel from his "family," proposing a prisoner exchange: Abel for Powers. Donovan has heard of Pryor's capture, however, and insists on a 2-for-1 exchange instead. Though the CIA is interested only in Powers' return, it allows Donovan to negotiate for Pryor as well, on condition that the Abel-for-Powers deal is not jeopardized.
The East German government, which is holding Pryor, suddenly pulls out, insulted that Donovan did not inform them that the USSR was a party to the negotiation. The CIA wants to leave Pryor behind and finish the exchange. Donovan threatens East Germany by saying unless Pryor is returned, the entire deal will be scrapped and Abel interrogated, and the USSR will blame East Germany for any damage. East Germany capitulates, and the exchange is conducted, freeing the three men. Donovan gains credit for his achievement.

The Walk (II) (2015)

In 1973, French street performer Philippe Petit (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) is trying to make a living in Paris with juggling acts and wire walking, much to the chagrin of his father. During one performance, he eats a hard candy which was given to him by an audience member and hurts his tooth. He visits the dentist and, while in the waiting room, sees a picture in a magazine of the Twin Towers in New York City. He analyzes the photo and decides to make it his mission to walk a tightrope between the two buildings. Meanwhile, he is kicked out of his parents' house by his father, citing his lack of income and the fact that he's a street performer. Philippe returns to the circus that inspired him to wire walk as a child and practices in the big top after hours, but is caught by Papa Rudy (Ben Kingsley), whom he impresses with his juggling skills. While performing one day, Philippe meets a beautiful woman and fellow street performer named Annie (Charlotte Le Bon) and they begin a romantic relationship. He also explains that although he didn't know it at the time, she was his first "accomplice". He tells Annie about his dream to walk between the towers of the World Trade Center and she supports him and gives him a perfect place to practice at her music school. Philippe meets a photographer named Jean-Louis (Clément Sibomy) and befriends him, becoming Philippe's official photographer and second accomplice in his coup.
Philippe asks Papa Rudy for tips and advice on knot tying and rope rigging, which Papa Rudy agrees to for compensation. After failing his first real performance by falling into a lake, Philippe decides to attempt to walk on the Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris to redeem himself. He succeeds with the help of Jean-Louis but is arrested in the process. Jean-Louis introduces Jeff (César Domboy), another accomplice who has a fear of heights, to Philippe and Annie, while explaining his idea to use a bow and arrow tied to a fishing line to get the cable across the Towers. Philippe and Annie then travel to America, setting the date for the walk as August 6, 1974. Philippe dresses in disguises to spy on the construction crews and scout out the locations, impaling his foot on a nail in the process. At one point he meets a man who reveals he is a fan of Philippe's and saw him at Notre Dame. He introduces himself as Barry Greenhouse (Steve Valentine), a life insurance salesman who works in the building, becoming another member of Philippe's team. They also meet French-speaking electronics salesman J.P. (James Badge Dale) and his friends, amateur photographer Albert (Ben Schwartz) and stoner David (Benedict Samuel). The gang go over the plan several times, ending with the notion that Philippe must be on the wire before the construction crews arrive at 7:00 AM.
On the eve of the event, the gang encounter several speed bumps, such as being three hours behind schedule, guards on the premises and nearly dropping the heavy cable off the roof. However, they successfully string up the ropes and set the cables. Philippe begins his walk, explaining that everything around him faded once he started, except the wire and himself, and that for the first time in his life he felt truly thankful and at peace. He successfuly crosses the gap between the towers while crowds below cheer him on. Once he reaches he has an urge to return, so he walks back again across the void. At one point he kneels to his audience and even lies down. The cops arrive, and threaten to remove him by helicopter if he doesn't get off but Philippe relentlessly continues to walk back and forth until he achieves the feat a total of six times. He is arrested on sight, with the police and construction workers commending him on his bravery. Philippe and his accomplices are eventually released and he decides to remain in New York, but Annie chooses to follow her dream, and return to Paris. Philippe is given a free pass to the towers of both observation decks by the building manager at any time, but gives a final sullen look to the camera, with the Twin Towers in the background, as he says the expiry date was crossed out and changed to "forever"..

Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials (2015)

The film begins with a young boy, Thomas, taken in by Ava Paige (Patricia Clarkson) and troops from the organization WCKD, alongside other children, after being dropped off by his mother for his own safety. Years later, shortly after being rescued from the maze, Thomas (Dylan O'Brien) and the remaining Gladers - Newt (Thomas Brodie-Sangster), Minho (Ki Hong Lee), Teresa Agnes (Kaya Scodelario), Frypan (Dexter Darden) and Winston (Alexander Flores) - are taken to a facility run by Mr. Janson (Aidan Gillen). He explains that the facility is a safe haven, protecting them from WCKD, the Flare virus and the Cranks, and provides them clothes, food, and sanitation, where there are other survivors of multiple mazes are also present. Thomas becomes curious about their activities and manages to find out what is really happening behind the closed doors. With help from Aris Jones (Jacob Lofland), the first maze survivor to end up in the facility, it is revealed that WCKD's leader, Ava, is still alive and that Mr. Janson is working for WCKD, as they discuss about the experiment on the Immunes and that Janson has yet to find The Right Arm, a resistance group located at the mountains. The group, including Aris, escapes the facility, as Janson orders his WCKD troops to track them down, where they find themselves in the deserted outside world - the Scorch.
The group arrive at an abandoned marketplace, where they first encounter with the Cranks, humans zombified by the Flare virus. Winston gets infected by one of the them in the process. When morning comes, they find the city has turned into ruins and that WCKD is still searching for them. Winston's infection gets worse, forcing the rest of the group to leave him alone to die by shooting himself, preventing his transformation. As group continues to venture the desert until one night, while sleeping in the middle of the desert, Thomas awakens and discovers civilization from far away. As a thunderstorm emerges, they run to an abandoned facility to keep them from the storm. Minho gets struck by the lightning, but he survives. They manage to enter the place, only to find out that the facility they entered was filled with chained Cranks. The group meets Brenda (Rosa Salazar) and Jorge (Giancarlo Esposito), who lead a dangerous band of survivors and have used the Cranks as their own guard dogs. When the two find that the group had come from WCKD and is looking for the Right Arm, the two agree to take them to the Right Arm, abandoning their group of survivors. Moments later, WCKD, led by Janson, storms the place, only for the facility to be destroyed by Jorge's explosives, however, Thomas and Brenda are left behind as the rest have escaped with Jorge. Thomas and Brenda manage to escape the Cranks, only for Brenda to get infected by a Crank in the process. Thomas experiences a flashback of when he and Teresa were working for WCKD, in which Thomas tries to warn Teresa of WCKD's plans, only for the two to be separated by WCKD's troops. As Thomas and Brenda reunite with the rest of the group, Jorge interrogates Marcus (Alan Tudyk), a survivor who secretly works for WCKD, into revealing the whereabouts of The Right Arm.
The group eventually arrive at The Right Arm's relief camps, where other innocent survivors are present, and are greeted by Vince (Barry Pepper) who leads the Right Arm and is in charge of deciding whether they can stay or not. As Brenda's infection gets worse, Vince threatens to shoot Brenda, only to be stopped by Mary Cooper (Lili Taylor), a former WCKD scientist who reveals that Thomas was their informant. As Mary halts Brenda's infection using an enzyme cure, Mary explains that the enzyme can only be harvested from an Immune's body, not manufactured, and that arguments over the methods of manufacturing the cure with Ava lead Mary's departure from WCKD. That evening, Teresa calls WCKD of her location, believing that WCKD's motivations are good, leading to an ambush by WCKD. Ava and Janson arrive and confront the Right Arm before WCKD troops captures survivors for experimentation, including Minho, while Janson shoots Mary dead. After Thomas and the Right Arm fend the WCKD troops off, Ava, Janson and Teresa retreat with their captured survivors. With only a fraction of survivors left at the site, Thomas plans an infiltration into WCKD and is determined to take them down to save his friends and save civilization, as his friends and the Right Arm agree to help and prepare to fight back.

During a kidnapping raid in Chandler, Arizona, idealistic FBI Special Weapons and Tactics Teams agent Kate Macer (Emily Blunt), her partner Reggie Wayne (Daniel Kaluuya), and the rest of her team discover dozens of corpses within the walls of a house along with an IED in the backyard shed, which kills two officers. Her boss, Dave Jennings (Victor Garber), recommends her to Matt Graver (Josh Brolin), a CIA SAD officer and Department of Justice adviser leading a team of Delta Force operators who are searching for the men responsible, one of them being cartel boss Manuel Díaz (Bernardo P. Saracino). Kate agrees to volunteer, eager to finally make a difference.
On the plane to El Paso, Texas, Kate meets Matt's partner, Alejandro Gillick (Benicio del Toro) who seems to be having nightmares. She learns en route that they will actually be going to JuárezMexico instead, where they will extract a prisoner, Guillermo, one of Díaz's top men, for questioning. While crossing back into the United States over the Bridge of the Americas, Matt, Alejandro, and their team realize cartel thugs are attempting to intercept them in a traffic jam, and the team is forced to kill the cartel men when they get out of their cars and attempt to capture Guillermo. Kate is appalled by the lack of concern for civilian safety and procedure, especially when operating outside of their jurisdiction, but Matt tells her that's how they have to operate against the cartel. After interrogating and torturing Guillermo, Matt and Alejandro learn the details of Díaz's hideout.
While Alejandro and Matt question a group of Mexican migrants for more information, Kate calls Reggie to join her, also acting as emotional support. With the help of several of the migrants who know the U.S.-Mexico border well, they tell Alejandro and Matt the exact whereabouts of a tunnel that the cartel uses to get its drugs into the United States. When Kate and Reggie demand answers, Matt tells them that their goal is to cause such a disruption in Díaz's drug operations that he will be called down to Mexico to meet with his boss. Matt and his team are interested in finding Díaz's boss, drug lord Fausto Alarcón (Julio Cedillo), who he said no-one can find because he "is a ghost." Matt then moves ahead by following Díaz's money launderers to the bank where they deposit his money and are then arrested. Díaz's accounts are then frozen. Kate, believing they can arrest Díaz with this information, gets records of the transactions, but Matt forbids her from going forward, telling her that they are working toward a bigger goal than just arresting Díaz. After reporting this to Dave, he tells her that he has no authority in what Matt's team is doing, but that if she is worried about operating outside the boundaries, the boundaries have expanded and she is no longer bound by the same laws as she was while working only for the FBI.
Infuriated, Kate and Reggie drink at a bar, where he introduces her to one of his colleagues, a local cop named Ted (Jon Bernthal). As they begin to have sex in her apartment, she discovers a rubber wristband in his possession of the same type that was used to bundle Díaz's laundered money. Trying to restrain him, a struggle ensues, which ends with Ted nearly killing Kate, but Alejandro, alerted by the noise, stops him and beats him. After Alejandro and Matt threaten the lives of his family and himself, Ted gives the names of all other local cops working for Díaz.
The next morning, Matt and his team prepare to follow Díaz, who has been called back to Alarcón. Under the cover of night, they raid the tunnel, which is really just a distraction so that Alejandro can sneak through to the other side. Once there, he kidnaps one of Díaz's mules, a Mexican police officer named Silvio (Maximiliano Hernández), who refers to Alejandro as "Medellín." Kate follows Alejandro against her orders, and manages to overhear this. She attempts to arrest Alejandro, who shoots her in her bulletproof vest and tells her to return to the U.S. Alejandro then drives away with Silvio. At the entrance, Kate attacks Matt, demanding answers. Matt explains that their goal is to restore power to the Colombian Medellín Cartel. By returning control of the drug trade to a single cartel, there can be some semblance of order, and that is the best that the U.S. can hope for at this time.
Alejandro and Silvio manage to catch up with Díaz, and after Silvio pulls Díaz over and makes him discard his weapon, Alejandro kills Silvio and wounds Díaz. Díaz then drives Alejandro to Alarcón's estate where Alejandro kills Díaz and Alarcón's guards before finding Alarcón and his family eating dinner. Alarcón, who had brutally murdered Alejandro's wife and daughter when Alejandro was a prosecutor in Juárez, mocks Alejandro at first, asking him if the cartel is really any different than the Colombian cartel he now works for and if Alejandro's wife would approve of the man he has become. Alejandro shoots Alarcón's wife and two sons in front of him so Alarcón can experience the same sense of loss as Alejandro before he too is finally shot by Alejandro.
The next morning, Alejandro sneaks back into Kate's apartment, where he gives her a waiver to sign stating that everything they did together was "by the book." Ashamed and dishonored, she refuses, but finally relents when Alejandro puts her own gun to her head, telling her that she would be committing suicide if she does not. Before he leaves, he tells Kate she should move to a small town, where the rule of law still exists, as she is not cut out for his line of work. Kate then points her gun at him from her balcony, and after he stops and turns to face her, she lowers her weapon, allowing Alejandro to walk away.
In Mexico, Silvio's now-widowed wife attends her son's soccer game, which is briefly interrupted by gunfire heard in the distance.

Peter (Levi Miller) is a young boy who is left on the steps of an orphanage by his mother Mary (Amanda Seyfried). The establishment is under the care of the cruel Mother Barnabas (Kathy Burke) in London. Upon learning that she is hoarding food for herself, Peter and his best friend Nibs steal it to distribute amongst themselves and the other orphans. In the process, Peter finds a letter written by his mother, declaring her love and assuring Peter they'll meet again "in this world or the other".
In retaliation for the boys' mischief, Mother Barnabas summons pirates who kidnap Nibs and several others. Peter manages to rescue Nibs, but is captured himself and taken to Neverland, a magical realm beyond space and time, where he is forced to become a slave laborer and mine for fairy dust on behalf of the ruthless pirate Blackbeard (Hugh Jackman), during which Peter befriends another miner, James Hook (Garrett Hedlund). After insulting Blackbeard's men, Peter is forced to walk the plank, but survives by flying above the water. Blackbeard then confides with him about an old prophecy that a boy who could fly would one day kill him, but Peter refuses to believe he is the said boy.
Peter joins Hook and his accomplice, Smee (Adeel Akhtar), in stealing one of Blackbeard's flying boats and escaping into the forest, where they are found and nearly executed by the natives led by Chief Great Little Panther (Jack Charles), before his daughter, Tiger Lily (Rooney Mara), notices Peter's pan flute pendant, left to him by Mary, and said to belong to their people's greatest hero, the legendary Pan. Tiger Lily reveals that Peter's father was the Fairy Prince, and that Mary incurred Blackbeard's wrath by rejecting his advances, for which she was forced to abandon Peter and seek shelter in the Fairy Kingdom. As part of his heritage, Peter has the ability to fly, but unable to do so because of his lack of faith.
Fearful of Blackbeard's punishment, Smee betrays the natives' location to him, and in the ensuing battle, Chief Great Little Panther is murdered by Blackbeard, who also reveals he killed Peter's mother. Peter, Hook, and Tiger Lily escape in a raft and head to the Fairy Kingdom to enlist their help in defeating the pirates. Along the way, Peter falls into the river and is nearly eaten by a crocodile before being rescued by the mermaids, after which he has a vision of Blackbeard accidentally killing Mary as she defended the Fairy Kingdom from his offensive. Despondent over their chances, Hook leaves, while Peter and Tiger Lily arrive at the Fairy Kingdom only to be ambushed by Blackbeard, who uses the pan flute pendant to open their gates and launches an attack.
Peter escapes and befriends one of the fairies, Tinker Bell. Together, they rally the faries to battle the pirates, and are joined by a returning Hook, who fights Blackbeard's right-hand man Bishop (Nonso Anozie) aboard the stolen ship, which tips over, sending both falling to their deaths. Peter conquers his fears and flies to save Hook, while Blackbeard and his men are overpowered by the faries. Forced into an abyss, they subsequently fall to their deaths; Smee is the sole survivor having fled during the battle. Peter then has a vision of Mary, who reaffirms him to Neverland's great hero, Peter Pan. Shortly afterwards, Peter and Hook, now the captain of the Jolly Roger, return to London to rescue Nibbs and the other orphans, who become part of Peter's crew, the Lost Boys. Peter and Hook then reaffirm their friendship, certain that nothing will ever go wrong between them.

A short time after the first film, Mavis (Selena Gomez) and her boyfriend Johnny (Andy Samberg) are married, with the approval of her father Dracula (Adam Sandler). A year later, they have a son named Dennis (Asher Blinkoff), who befriends Wayne's werewolf pup daughter Winnie (Sadie Sandler). Nearing his fifth birthday, Dennis has yet to grow his fangs, which worries Drac that his grandson might not gain vampire powers. Noticing the dangers of Transylvania, Mavis starts to consider raising Dennis where Johnny grew up, much to Drac's dismay.
By Drac's suggestion, Mavis and Johnny travel to California to visit the in-laws, Mike (Nick Offerman) and Linda (Megan Mullally), leaving Drac to babysit Dennis. Drac enlists his friends, Frank (Kevin James), Wayne the Werewolf (Steve Buscemi), Griffin the Invisible Man (David Spade), Murray the Mummy (Keegan-Michael Key) and Blobby the Blob (Jonny Solomon) to help train Dennis to become a monster, to no avail. Drac takes Dennis to a summer camp where he learned to hone his vampire abilities, with no results. Desperate, Drac hurls Dennis from a tall, unstable tower to pressure his transformation into a bat, but rescues him at the last second. The stunt is filmed by the campers and uploaded to the internet, which eventually reaches Mavis and Johnny who hurry back to Transylvania. Mavis angrily scolds her father for endangering Dennis and his inability to accept that he is human, promising to move out of the hotel after Dennis’ fifth birthday.
Mavis invites Vlad (Mel Brooks), her grandfather and Drac’s father, to Dennis’ birthday party. To avoid a confrontation, Drac has the partygoers disguised as monsters. Vlad arrives with his monstrous bat-like servant Bela (Rob Riggle) and meets his great-grandson. He believes that fear will cause Dennis’ fangs to sprout and manipulates a stage performer into scaring Dennis, but Drac shields his grandson in the last moment and exposes Vlad, who is outraged that Drac has accepted humans as guests in his hotel.
Mavis is angered by her grandfather’s treachery and while the family quarrels, Dennis sadly flees the hotel and enters the forest with Winnie in tow, but they are attacked by Bela and the rest of Vlad's minions. When Bela injures Winnie, Dennis instantly grows his fangs and his vampire abilities manifest. Drac, Mavis and Dennis team up to defeat the bat-like minions. Bela attempts to kill Johnny in revenge, but Vlad appears with a change of heart, shrinks his former servant to a harmless size and drives him away.
With Dennis now a full vampire, Mavis decides to continue raising her son in Transylvania and the party resumes.
